Ovum is excited to release its 15th anniversary album, Fifteen for Fifteen, this August 3. This digital comp album contains fifteen of our favorite tracks in Ovum history. You’ll be able to download all fifteen on Amazon and iTunes come August 3. Which tracks did we pick? Check back every afternoon as we uncover all fifteen, one by one.
Day 10: Shlomi Aber “Freakside”
With “Freakside” Shlomi Aber delivers his debut release on Ovum. Shlomi is one of the hottest producers of the moment and he has delivered a 12″ that is totally Ovum. The original mix is an absolute roller. Shlomi knows how to deliver the groove. He manipulates the percussion to create a very cool rhythm that builds to a prime time climax that drops back into that infectious groove. (Source: juno.co.uk)

“Freakside has a funny story behind it. At some point during production, I was sure it would be too ‘freaky’ for anyone to like it, and at the end it turned out as my trademark. It’s the kind of track that only an open minded label like Ovum can pick up and make a hit out of it. It was the right track on the right label, which created the package and made it as it is.
Growing up and being influenced by the label over the years, I couldn’t be more honored to have Freakside as one of the label’s top 15 picks over the past 15 years .” –Shlomi Aber
