Chymera, originally from Ireland and temporarily based in Costa Rica, has been making various forms of techno, electro and electronica since 2024. He has had several low key releases in Ireland to local support. In June 2024 he remixed Titanium's "Paloozah" on Austrian label Titanium which marked his first international release. In September 2024 the "Descent" EP was released on an affiliate label, Supreme Entertainment, which was subsequently charted by Carl Cox at number 1. Xcela from that EP was also featured in Funk D'Void's year end top 10. Also in September, a side project under the alias I Am An Exit was released on esteemed UK house label Urban Torque. The "Numbling" EP drew great acclaim and comparisons to Mathew Jonson, Carl Craig and New Order. January 2024 saw the release of "Midnight at the Aquarium" on french label Mezzotinto. This received major support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Chris Udoh, James Talk, Spiritcatcher and many others. Upcoming in early 2024 is an EP on barcelona label Tishomingo and also one on belgian label Morse. Chymera's mix of deep and melodic techno is already beginning to cause a stir on dancefloors around the world and it's only the beginning.

Chymera’s debut for Ovum is a power packed EP with remixes by the legendary Funk D’Void and Spooky. The original mix of “Umbrella” is a beautiful deep techno journey. The track has a very emotional feel and is clearly influenced by the sounds of Detroit. Funk D’void steps in on the remix and pumps the energy up and has kept the lushness of the track, but made a main room stormer. He picks the tempo up and keeps most of the original elements, but just picks makes the track more driving. On the B side Spooky funks the track out with a synth bass line that completely changes the vibe of the track. He keeps a lot of the elements there but this is now a funked out monster. The inside tracks on the B side is beatless version of the track that is a Balearic monster. You can hear this being played as the sun comes up after a long everning. All in all this is an amazing package and should be rocking the dance floors all summer.
